That's weird. Did it crash on startup? Was there a dialog box message?

Yes it cannot open and dialogue box said like close or find online solution but cannot solve the problem I try it several times. Don't know why

Can you give us a quick run down of your hardware? It looks like you're using Windows 7, is that the 32bit edition or 64?

Information about your CPU and RAM would be really helpful too.

I get a crash on launching the app as well, I just get the standard windows exception saying the application cannot be started, when I start a debugging session (I'm a developer so I happened to have the tools installed already) I get this as the exception.

"Unhandled exception at 0x013484b0 in sol.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000000."

That's running as an Admin or not, Windows 10 64 bit, Intel i7, 24gb RAM

Could also come down to graphics RAM: can you send through your card specs? Thanks.

Same issue here. The main menu appears, but the screen is frozen. Any attempt to click results in faded white out, shortly followed by a CTD with typical Windows dialog. I'm on Windows 10. 16 GB RAM. Intel i7-4771 3.50 GHz. AMD Radeon R9 200 / HD 7900 Series 3072MB GDDR5.

Ok, couple of questions:

* How much graphics ram do you have?
* Did you happen to try any of the older demos and did they work?

See my latest edit Chris. You ninja. This is the first demo I've tried.

Well, that's more than enough spec to run the game [smile] I'm assuming you have the latest graphics drivers?

Aye I do.

I'm an indie dev myself so I've tried a few...things... but no luck so far. Since I can't even get past the smoke test I'm a bit stumped as to how to help. I'll let you know if I suss anything.

Ok, try installing this build:

http://eu-builds-soltrader-net.s3.amazonaws.com/releases/Sol%20Trader%20Demo%20Installer%200.9.572995e.exe

It's an old one but if it starts it means that I have problems with the latest graphics code (auto-mipmapping, using a third colour buffer...)

Alternatively, it's an optimised build, but it's got debug symbols: if you're a dev, you could always load up the EXE in visual studio, set the working directory to the root folder, and send me a callstack [biggrin]

Same initial issue with this build Chris. I suspect it's going to be the Catalyst drivers because it's always the bloody Catalyst drivers. I've a lot on today but I'll see if I can get that callstack for you at some point.

That build doesn't work for me either but then this computer is rather underpowered in that department. I've got a GeForce GTS 240  which only has 1Gb of RAM. I'll try it then I get home on my PC that can actually run games.

@Chris - PM/e-mail me some basic steps to get what you need. I'm on VStuido Express 2013 for Windows Desktop but hopefully that won't make a difference. Cheers.
